Double Weave Mosaic Shawl, Tencel, 2014

I designed a 16-shaft networked draft for double weave and wove this double weave shawl using Tencel for warp and weft.  The pattern looks like mosaic when viewed from a distance.  This shawl received “The Kathryn Wellman Memorial Award” for imaginative weaving incorporating design, color and texture at the 2014 Philadelphia Guild of Handweavers “Celebration of Fibers” exhibit.

Double Weave Table Runner, Pearl Cotton, 2014

I designed this double weave table runner by starting with a 4-block profile draft first and wove it on 16 shafts. I posted drafts and notes about how I wove it here at this link.

Double Weave Placemats, Cotton, 2014

These placemats are also a double weave project that I designed as a 2-block profile draft first and wove it on 8 shafts.  Drafts and notes about how I wove them are at the same link as the table runner.

Fancy Lace & Spot Weave Variation – warp & weft floats on plain weave, pearl cotton, 2014 (with close-up of center)
